A ‘single sign-on experience’ for employees is one of the key announcements from this year’s VMworld in California.
VMware’s Identity Manager Advanced Edition is being touted as the world’s first identity as a service (IDaaS) offering.
Identity Manager enables employers to manage a centralised hub which provides employees a single sign-on process to access Windows, SaaS and mobile apps.
Identity Manager is already included as part of the AirWatch package but is now available as a standalone product for businesses seeking a less comprehensive access management solution.
VMware calls the process Adaptive Access.
"Identity Manager is unique in the market because of the ability to register a device with AirWatch to create a secure chain of trust between the user, their device, the OS vendor, and the enterprise."
